Heavy Rain and Hail in Dubai, and in Al Ain

Heavy showers and hail reported in Al Alisaili–Margham and Ghshabah; NCM warns of more rain tomorrow

Dubai: Parts of Dubai witnessed heavy rain and hail on Friday afternoon, particularly over the Al Alisaili–Margham area, while light showers were reported in Ghshabah, Al Ain, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM).

Popular weather-tracking account @storm_ae shared striking videos of the storm sweeping across Dubai, showing dark clouds blanketing the city’s skyline.

Humidity levels are expected to rise overnight and into Saturday morning, especially along coastal regions. Winds will remain light to moderate but may pick up at times, causing blowing dust. The Arabian Gulf is expected to remain slight, while the Oman Sea could turn rough intermittently.

Looking ahead, Saturday’s weather (July 19) is forecast to be generally fair to partly cloudy across the UAE, with a chance of convective clouds developing over eastern and southern regions, potentially bringing more rain.

Humidity is likely to increase again overnight and into Sunday morning, particularly over western coastal and inland areas, raising the risk of mist formation in those regions.

Winds will blow from the southeast to northeast at light to moderate speeds, occasionally strengthening during the day to reach up to 40 km/h, which could lead to blowing dust and reduced visibility in exposed areas.

Sea conditions are expected to remain slight to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Residents are advised to stay updated through official weather bulletins and exercise caution during periods of poor visibility or rapidly changing conditions.
