IMMAF Youth World Championships Al Ain makes history at ADNEC Centre, hosting over 1,000 athletes from 60 countries in its first-ever edition in the city.
Al Ain: The spotlight is firmly on IMMAF Youth World Championships Al Ain as the prestigious global event kicks off for the first time in the city, under the patronage of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
The IMMAF Youth World Championships Al Ain is being hosted at the state-of-the-art ADNEC Centre Al Ain, featuring a record-breaking participation of more than 1,000 male and female athletes representing 60 countries. The championship runs through July 27, showcasing the best youth talent in mixed martial arts from around the world.
Organised by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) in collaboration with the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, the opening day of the IMMAF Youth World Championships Al Ain saw thrilling bouts, an electrifying atmosphere, and strong attendance from spectators — cementing Al Ain’s status as a world-class destination for international sports.
In a historic move, the IMMAF Youth World Championships Al Ain introduced the Youth D category (ages 10–11) for the first time, demonstrating the organisers’ dedication to nurturing young talent and encouraging early participation in combat sports.
The UAE National Team made an impressive start at the IMMAF Youth World Championships Al Ain, showcasing technical excellence and determination to secure more victories in the coming days.
Kerrith Brown, President of IMMAF, praised the IMMAF Youth World Championships Al Ain, noting: “This is the largest edition of the championship since its inception in 2019. The Al Ain event serves as an exceptional platform for cultural exchange and promotes positive values among youth worldwide.”
He also highlighted the UAE’s leadership in hosting global sporting events, thanks to visionary planning, world-class infrastructure, and a strong commitment to youth development.
Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation and Chairman of the MMA Committee, added: “Hosting the IMMAF Youth World Championships Al Ain reflects global confidence in the UAE’s organisational capabilities and Al Ain’s readiness to stage events of this magnitude. Expanding into Al Ain further strengthens our mission to grow sports infrastructure and inspire future champions.”
He praised the inclusion of the Youth D category at the IMMAF Youth World Championships Al Ain, calling it “a progressive step that cultivates a competitive spirit early on and prepares a new generation to represent the UAE internationally.”
